This is a bit of fun to help you get to know me!
It's always nice to learn a little bit about someone - I'm always fascinated with people - especially when they're providing hints and tips to help your wellbeing. Why do I love the therapies I love? What is my inspiration and fascination behind being 'well'? How do I implement my own advice? This section includes a few answers to some of these questions so you can get to know me a bit better...
I am very regularly featured in magazines, offering advice for readers on wellbeing! I have been published on Tiny Buddha's blog, in Yoga Magazine, Natural Health Magazine, True Health Magazine, Your Healthy Living Magazine, Wellbeing Magazine, Holistic Therapist Magazine, International Therapist, In Essence, and various others. I love inspiring people with wellbeing tips!
It’s hard to choose, but I’d say that homeopathy has to be a strong favourite because, despite it being quite a controversial topic at times, I know in my heart that it works for me, especially in my recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome! You can only go on your experience - it definitely helped me heal and took me on a journey to a place where I could decide again, when I needed it most.
Ooh, way too many! I’d have to say that with my love of Aromatherapy and the therapeutic benefits it can have, one of my most used essential oils is Sweet Orange because it’s so uplifting and great for the immune system! Beautiful oil.
The most important thing is to stay light – and this can be achieved through playtime! Bring out your inner child. For me, yoga is my thing - and I love integrating all my holistic therapies into a unique yoga and meditation wellbeing ‘fusion’, combining as many as I can at once! Get the essential oils diffusing, grab a journal, get your mat out and just flow with some music! During playtime, I can be found upside down practicing my handstand (mainly because I think it’s a great reminder that it’s ok to fail and that balance is a journey!).
I am a highly qualified Complementary Therapist, in a wide variety of natural therapies and techniques, having trained around the world – I call it ‘worldly wellbeing’. I began my training at a luxury, award-winning academy in Derbyshire countryside and added on specialist skills throughout the years, from Reproductive Reflexology training to making natural homemade products courses in London. I’m also a qualified yoga and meditation teacher, having trained in the amazingly beautiful Bali for an authentic experience. I’m a Reiki master, and had my attunements at the spiritual home of Stonehenge, and I teach all levels of this therapy. I have completed my clinical training as a Homeopath with the leading Centre for Homeopathy Education (CHE) in Covent Garden, London, which I absolutely adore! As well as this, I’m a regular wellbeing workshop worshiper - especially about the mind-body-spirit connection and the power of thought - because I love to learn in order to share my knowledge with the wider world. Finally, to really reassure you, I am a full Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, meaning I am also a member of their Professional Standards Register! Very important.
Yes! As well as my writing, I have busy clinics in London and Warwickshire, focused on all my various therapies, and I also offer UK-wide VoIP (Skype or Zoom) appointments and programmes, particularly for Homeopathy and Mentoring! You can see more on my Chalet Holistics clinic website - or contact me to find out more about a programme or appointment for you.
Again, this is a hard question – I have an entire book case full! I’m really into self-development, as you’ll probably read in my blog posts, so at the moment I’m mid-way through many! I’m reading books by Mara Gleason – “One Thought Changes Everything” – and Jamie Smart – “Clarity” - about the power of the thought-feeling connection! I’m also half way through “Finding Your Own North Star” by Martha Beck , and I’m also about to start ‘The Space Within’ by Michael Neill (thanks Mandy ). I’m a HUGE fan of anything ‘Louise Hay’ also and I’m attending the Hay House Writers’ Workshop later this year! Which reminds me, I’m a huge Julia Cameron fan – “The Artists’ Way” is excellent and I always try and challenge myself to a regular artist’s date to reconnect to my inner creative!
The quotes are just some of my favourite inspirational quotes to help us in the journey to restoring our wellbeing. I’m a big believer in all things natural and the power of positive self-talk, and these are just a gentle reminder to be a little bit kinder to yourself.
I think the award for the ‘strangest treatment’ I’ve ever experienced was in Bali when I went, with another yoga teacher training student, to have a Shirodhara treatment in aid of boosting memory concentration for our yoga exam! Let’s just say they drip oil on your head for about 45 minutes and it was extremely messy - we were covered in oil head to toe! Massage can be funny to experience in different cultures; however, Balinese massage was one of the BEST massages I’ve ever had – make sure you experience that one!
It is extremely important to recognise that as holistic therapists, we are usually looking at the whole person, by the very nature of what we do – mind, body and spirit – in order to help a person try to restore wellbeing. When we offer general wellbeing advice and tips via our website this is very much more on a general basis, and does not take into account individual considerations. If there are any medical conditions, or if you are pregnant, always consult your GP or specialist consultant prior to trying our tips. Read our Disclaimer and Safety Policy here.
If you’re a wellbeing blogger, or a company needing content about wellbeing tips, or even a natural product developer - or even anyone who wants to collaborate - then just get in touch and we can discuss more! I’m happy to get involved in Journalism, Guest Blogging or PR work, Marketing and Brand Support, or even Product Review or Development, so please just contact to discuss further. See our Journalism & Press and Consultancy Pages for more information.
